Feeling Sheltered

You should know what this is if you've been following along.
It's existence in my arsenal is a product of a massive
collaborative discussion we had in December.
2 lbs 9 oz on my scale, body & poles.
2 lbs 6.5 oz post date with scissors.
I'm 6 ft & a side-sleeper.
It's long & tall enough.
I'm happy.

Outdoor testing to come.

  2. Be sure to give a good synopsis on the moisture management of this tent when you get the chance. Your post-date weight is right about on par with the 2C, although it might actually be lighter as I do not think the weight of Warmlite tents are measured post-seam sealing (another downside to those tents which I didn't mention prior: you have to do the seam seal job yourself unless otherwise mentioned when placing an order. They do include the necessities to complete the job, but it's another reason why these tents aren't for "run of the mill" types).

  3. Will do, Steve. I'll be looking to use in in both still and windy conditions, from -30 to +30.
The Firstlight does not come seam-sealed either. No tents do. Standard on-the-shelf companies often seam tape theirs, but seam-sealing using SilNet is a rare option you have to pay for, found only on a few cottage manufacturer websites.
I do not plan on seam-sealing mine, as it's ONLY a winter tent and I don't plan on truly needing it. If I find that above 20 or so, I get moisture droplets coming through, I may reconsider, but I don't foresee this as a problem if I'm not going to encounter rain with it.
Good point, though. The 2 lb 6.5 oz weight is without stakes and guylines.
