Clothing System for Mt McKinley

Headed up for a three-day summit attempt of Mt McKinley, this weekend, on snowshoes.
With forecasted highs of 15 and lows to 35 below, here's how I plan on staying warm, as I will need versatility and the ability to wear it all together. (Footwear not pictured)

  1. Everything worked great, except for the leather belt that dug into my back, the R1 fleece which wasn't very useful since it's not windproof like the synthetic insulated garments, and the fleece and shell gloves pictured on the right which didn't keep my hands warm enough when hiking in windy conditions. I went for versatility, but midweight insulated gloves would have been better. I was too warm hiking in the long underwear with the windproof wool boxers pictured on bottom left. I experienced a lot of cold times on my bike, so I thought they'd be a good addition, but legs stay plenty warm when walking.
